Lubricated Taper Plug Valve for High-Pressure Isolation, DBB, and Severe Hydrocarbon Service
Bliss Americas supplies lubricated plug valves engineered for tight-shutoff isolation in hydrocarbon, chemical, and high-pressure gas service. The product line - manufactured at BRDR Christensens, a Bliss Anand Group company producing plug valves since 1958 - covers top-entry, pressure-balanced, four-way bottom-entry, and twin Double Block and Bleed (DBB) configurations rated up to ASME Class 2500 / PN 420 in sizes from ½" to 36" (DN 15 to DN 900).
The complete valve range is manufactured in compliance with API 6D, ASME, PED, EN, ISO, and ATEX standards, with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 trim available for sour gas and H₂S service
100+ Plants using our Products
Bliss products power mission-critical systems for leading names in the energy, chemical, and infrastructure sectors. Our partnerships span global OEMs, EPCs, and end-users who trust our instrumentation for accuracy, durability, and engineering precision.
Lubricated Taper Plug Valve
Bliss Plug Valves provide dependable isolation and positive shut-off across a wide range of temperatures, pressures and media. Built from high-quality alloys and precision machined for minimal leakage, they are suited to Oil & Gas, petrochemical, power and general industrial systems.
Where Lubricated Plug Valves Outperform Ball and Gate Valves
Lubricated plug valves are typically specified when process conditions damage soft-seated ball valves or where frequent cycling accelerates seat wear.
Common Reasons Engineers Specify Plug Valves
- Abrasive or solids-containing media
- FCC slurry and catalyst systems
- Cement and drilling applications
- Polymerizing hydrocarbons
- High-temperature thermal cycling
- Emergency shutdown systems
- High-pressure gas isolation
- Pipeline pigging isolation
- Refinery turnaround applications
- Space-constrained skid installations
Unlike soft-seated ball valves, lubricated plug valves use metal-to-metal sealing that resists thermal degradation, seat erosion, and particulate damage.
